Does it help someone? It is good, or has merit, only if the answer is yes.

As for intrinsic meaning, well, I agree there really is no such thing. Meaning yes, but not intrinsic. Meaning is something which must be given, which exists outside the thing itself, and really only within our own minds.

I suppose that's why I don't save my blogs. If the server crashes, I loose them all. It's out of my hands. That is my act of scattering. Some people write things on paper and burn them. I think this would be a good practice.Monicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03489993418924786293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30116234.post-74572581936076710042008-03-08T10:49:00.000-06:002008-03-08T10:49:00.000-06:00We are all programmed to crave existence: if we we...We are all programmed to crave existence: if we weren't, we'd be extinct. But all forms are empty according to Buddha: no such a thing as intrinsic merit or meaning. So, scattering, not gathering or preserving, would be a Buddhist thing to do.

If I create, hopefully that's because that is fun, not because I want it to be meaningful and/or remembered. I should be able to scatter the creation and walk away like Tibetan sand artists then.TK Sunghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02250566130092237637noreply@blogger.com
